Are you a new RVer or just want to change your vehicle? Choosing the right RV is not an easy task.
The purchase of an RV is a significant investment, so you do not want to make the wrong choice. Whether the goal is to travel occasionally or become a true RV enthusiast and maybe possibly take the road for good, it is important to take your time and carefully consider your needs before saying “yes” to an RV.
BASIC QUESTIONS
- Depending on what you want to do, what is the type of RV that is right for you (motorhome, trailer, fifth wheel, etc.)?
- What about your needs related to the interior space (extensions open and closed if necessary)? Storage space? The size of water, wastewater and gasoline tanks?
- What’s the maximum length of equipment you are comfortable driving? Remember, it may be great to have a big RV, but it may be less fun when it comes time to park or back it into a lot. If you are not already comfortable driving vehicles other than your car, this point is not to be neglected.
- How much are you willing to pay? Also do not forget to check other costs such as annual maintenance, gas as well as the cost of insurance.

If you are thinking of buying your RV at the beginning of the year, visiting the Montreal or Quebec RV Show is definitely a great idea. You will be able to see many dealers representing different manufacturers and, at the same time, you will be able to ask all the questions you have in mind.
If it is impossible for you to be present at one of these events in February or March, most recreational vehicle dealers soon after open their doors again for the next season and you will be able to visit them directly. THE PERFECT MATCH
Before deciding if an RV is the right one for you, go and visit the interior and try to imagine how you would feel if you were actually living in it, for example, preparing dinner, taking a shower, listening to the TV, using the bathroom. That is the only way to be able to see if the RV truly suits your needs and if it is THE perfect match.
